One rotor-hinge-piston-rotor-hinge, connector crane in the hanger, Onboard foundry with industrial refinery and assembler, upgraded for refinery yield and overall power efficiency, A small, protected hanger which should hold at least 2 small-block, fighter-type craft. Designed to survive SOME direct collisions with asteroids. Hybrid Ion/Hydrogen drive design, specialised for deep space patrols and scouting asteroid belts. I even used the 'window' block as my trip on the 13-barrel Gatling railgun as an homage to that. I have discovered that once timed and built 'properly', they can add massive precision and firepower to about any weapon with some creativity. You demonstrated to me clearly what one can do with this game and some trigonometry, and your design is prominently featured on this ship. Of course major credit, and my personal thanks, also goes to whomever initially conceptualised the 'Gatling Railgun'. This ship is based on your work, and my draft name for it is the 'Kushan', due to its obvious resemblance to the Kushan Carrier from Homeworld 1. Major credit goes to the artists who designed the ships in each game. I am a player of older games like Valve's Homeworld, and Blizzard's Starcraft, and most of its visual inspiration comes from there. NOW I think I am updating this properly here.Īnyways, here's a small capital ship concept I have been working on, pulling from the latest Warfare updates. I’d just like to see more games in this universe and more people playing them, it’s such a deep, rich universe.Alright. I could see Gearbox trying to leverage their purchasing of the Homeworld IP into a multi-genre deal beyond just more RTS games. Kinda weird for me to think I have Karan S’Jet on speed dial (or the modern equivalent of that). I would go on to call her Karan for the rest of the event and then keep in contact with her since. After chatting some more, she did the voice in the original game and even came back to do the voice again the remastered games but she was credited as Heidi Ernest before she was married and changed her name to Heidi Eeaves. Everything she said to me just sounded like Fleet Command. I confusingly replied with “No?” and she then goes on to tell me she is the voice of Karan S’Jet. After she let me go on and on for about 15mins she asked me “So I guess someone told you about my history with Homeworld?” And I was shocked because she was a new CEO of Relic so wasn’t there back when the studio made Homeworld. I was chatting away to her (I was slightly drunk) and gushing about my love of Homeworld and Dawn of War. I work at a SEGA owned studio and they also own Relic, upon a gathering of the studios I was introduced to the new CEO of Relic called Heidi Eaves. I’d just like to see more games in this universe and more people playing them, it’s such a deep, rich universe. Thanks again to all my fellow OT creators for their support on all the OTs I’ve posted as well as their impressive work on all the OTs they make (including but not limited to) vestan Xavi nihilence Aurc Theorry Dancrane212 TheKeyPit mazi and the keeper of all things OT TheMoon for highlighting some info I needed before making this :) If none of you have ever played Homeworld I'd love to chat to you about what makes it so awesome and hope some of you may already be fans too.Ĭlick to shrink.I could see Gearbox trying to leverage their purchasing of the Homeworld IP into a multi-genre deal beyond just more RTS games. I’m super excited to get a glimpse at Homeworld 3 in the coming years but until then I’ll be replaying all previous Homeworld games and also checking out Blackbird Interactive’s other game Hardspace: Shipbreaker – it’s the closet thing we’ll ever get to a first person game in the Homeworld franchise due to the similarly art design in the game. I had a great time designing something that I’ve been passionate about for years rather than a game that’s jut releasing.
